EM40982 - The J nozzle is "J" shaped 1.5" diameter tube that adds makeup water to a Westinghouse nuclear steam generator from the feed water ring. Weld backing rings within the feed water pipe require periodic visual inspection. The J Nozzle Cam was design to perform that inspection. It replaces the typical video probe or fiberscope with a lower cost and more rugged tool. The device has a patent issued on the innovative design.
