EM40830 - This cast component of an aircraft turbine engine was inspected using fluorescent penetrant test methods (PT). Internal surfaces where an ID casing joined and OD casing at guide vein sections required high resolution visual examination under both white and UV light conditions. The product was purpose built to fit the examination requirements. As a result the inspection process was markedly improved in both quality and speed. This unit was noted by plant management as the most improved process in that year.
